This is the Legend behind the Ojibway Dream Catcher!
Long ago elders told stories of the Spiderwoman who would protect her children at night and bring forth the sun at dawn. When the tribe left the settlement, they could not bring the Spiderwoman with them. So, to carry on their tradition they began to build their own webs. The circle of a dream catcher symbolizes the movement of the sub as it circles from day to night. The web is then hung over the children and the elders to protect them from bad dreams. The web was said to filter the bad dreams and only allow the sweetest of dreams to enter their minds. When the sun hit the web, it evaporated the bad dreams and gifted them with another day to awake with the sun. We are beyond excited that Dream Guardian has joined our store and has shared her knowledge with us!
